Saturday and Sunday

Sunday July 23
Short but solid workout at the gym today before flying out to Missoula.
5 miles on the elliptical including 10x30 seconds "sprints" with 60 seconds easy
AMRAP in 10 Minutes (completed 4.5 rounds)
10 KB swings (35#), 10 push-ups, 10 squats, 10 shoulder / push presses, 10 rows

Biggest issue right now is braxton hicks contractions. My doctor isn't concerned but I could do with less frequent "practice" contractions - I definitely don't remember having this many with D. I am hydrating like crazy while working out (and at night) which seems to help.

55:00 minutes

Weekly total 9:10 (2 yoga, 1 swim)

Saturday July 22
40:00 run before SPX
40:00 Pilates

Total 1:20

Fun visit with Shari!

It was so much fun to take the day off and visit with Shari. After a record breaking drive back from the airport we made it to yoga JUST in time to squeeze in a 60:00 power yoga class. Then it was lunch at Whole Foods and a short walk around Queen Anne to cap off the afternoon. I am hoping that next time Shari's in town we will both be running and can check out the Cougar Mountain trails.

Thursday

Race Day in Queen Anne

Fun 3.3 mile "Crown of Queen Anne" in the neighborhood this morning!
Little Bean and I finished in 23:30 which was good for third place - not bad for 19 weeks pregnant although it was still tough to hang batch and watch a few ladies pull ahead! I was doing the talk test throughout to make sure I wasn't pushing too hard so I am sure I looked like a crazy lady out there talking to myself. Always fun to finish a race and hear Declan cheering "Yay Mommy" and "Go runers!"

60:00 yoga class

Friday 7/16

5 miles on the elliptical (including 10x 30 second higher effort)
10 minutes continuous:
10 KB swings 35#
10 lunges each leg
10 push-ups
10 step-ups

Wednesday and Thursday

Thursday July 13th
Very busy day at work - took a light day of training.
40:00 Pilates
I hadn't done Pilates all week and I definitely notice in my hips / pelvic floor when I ignore this part of my regimen.

Wednesday July 14th
7 mile "run" - 4 miles on elliptical, 3.5 run

Tuesday, July 10, 2012

July 11th, 2012

I woke up feeling SUPER tired today but actually came around once I started to work out.
-5 mile "run" on the elliptical
-30 minute 1500 yard swim  (I realized that I NEED a set workout before going to the pool, I really wish that I could find a masters workout that was not at 8:30pm!)

Declan also swam today - 30 minute swim lesson:-)

Monday July 10th

6.5 mile "run" on the elliptical - I wanted to give my hips a break but managed a solid session by doing intervals.
10-9-8-7 Deadlifts (95#), rows (45#), Push-ups

July 2012

After spending a bit of time over the weekend reading through the posts from my last pregnancy I realized just how valuable it is (for me) to have a workout log. It is way to easy for me to "remember feeling great" during all of my workouts while pregnant with D and then get frustrated whereas a quick read through the blog reminds me that I most definitely have a selective memory. Alternatively, it is helpful to look back and see just how active I managed to stay the first time around. I am on track and trying to do the same this go round. So, better late than never!

Current goal- 1+ workout every day, consistency is key! Longer term goal is Honu 70.3 next June!

Week 18
Sunday July 9th
6ish mile run with Declan to Golden Gardens - hip did pretty well given how it has been feeling but I am excited for an adjustment tomorrow!
10 minute barbell complex in the afternoon - 3x 6 deadlifts, 6 cleans, 6 front squats, 6 push-presses, 6 back squats

Saturday July 8th
4-5 mile run through Queen Anne
40 minute Pilates class

Friday July 7th
40 minute swim in the am (2K)
30 minute elliptical (intervals) in the afternoon
